Club Trophies

Bert Webb Memorial Trophy

is awarded to the catcher of the heaviest trout caught in Victorian running waters, east of 146° 30 m east, south to the coast and north to the N.S.W. border.

Peter McGregor Memorial Western Lakes Trophy

is held on the Friday, Saturday & Sunday of the last weekend in June each year,fishing the Western Victorian Lakes usually based at Camperdown. The VFFA join us this weekend to fish for the Bruce Whitehead trophy.

Bill Fisher Memorial Founders Trophy

is awarded to the catcher of the heaviest trout caught anywhere in Australia.

Ray Clark Trophy

is awarded to the catcher of a trout weighing closest to 2lb (.9 kilo) caught on the Club opening weekend. Ray always caught a fish close to 2lb. in weight.

Dudley Lee 'Donger' Trophy

Bairnsdale FFC members host Victorian Fly Fishing Association members on the first weekend in April, at the Mitta Lodge and fish the Omeo area rivers until weigh-in 2.00pm Sunday. The Club who's member catches the heaviest trout holds the 'Dudley Lee Donger Trophy' (pictured) for 12 months. The members name who catches the winning fish, and the weight is inscribed on the Trophy together with the Club's name.

Tony Wilkes Eucumbene Trophy

is awarded to the catcher of the largest trout caught during the Club’s annual trip to Lake Eucumbene. The fish is to be taken in Lake Eucumbene or the Eucumbene river.

Eligibility for Trophies

The fish are to be weighed whole and the weighing verified by a Club member or an adult non-member who shall provide their name and address.

Alternatively a photograph will be accepted, provided that a suitable means of establishing weight or length can be shown.  The Club's WhatsApp site should be used to display photos and details of the catch.

ALL FISH MUST BE TROUT CAUGHT ON A FLY

Acknowledgement

The Club acknowledges Sport and Recreation Victoria through the COUNTRY ACTION GRANT SCHEME for the funding to originally set up this website in 2013. In 2024 with the assistance through the Victorian Government STRONGER FISHING CLUBS GRANT SCHEME the Club was provided with funds to completely update the site with the latest software and security systems.
