ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING & ATTENDANCE DRAW

The Club Annual General Meeting is held second Wednesday in July at the Bairnsdale Club 7.00pm.

Election of Office Bearers and the draw for the annual attendance prize of a fishing rod/equipment, Member must be in attendance.
At each monthly meeting numbers are drawn and if the member's number comes up and he is in attendance he qualifies for the Annual draw. 

PETER McGREGOR MEMORIAL/WESTERN LAKES ANNUAL COMPETITION 

Peter McGregor Memorial/Western Lakes Trophy is combined with a Competition against VFFA for the Bruce Whitehead Trophy. This Competition is usually held Friday and Saturday with presentations on Saturday night. The date is set in conjunction with the VFFA but is often in August. The time can vary depending on weather conditions. 

RAY CLARK MEMORIAL TROPHY 

First weekend in September opening of the trout season, midnight Friday. Members stay at the Mitta Lodge and the Trophy is awarded to the catcher of a trout weighing closest to 2lb (.9 kilo). Ray always caught a fish close to 2lb. in weight. Great Saturday Night meal and “Bonfire” put on by the Club. Weigh-in 1pm Sunday. 

EUCUMBENE TRIP

A Club trip to Lake Eucumbene is usually held on the first weekend of in March. The Member catching the largest trout wins the Tony Wilkes Trophy.

DUDLEY LEE DONGER BFFC/VFFA DUDLEY LEE MEMORIAL 

Held first week-end in April, Friday-Sunday at Mitta Lodge for the Dudley Lee “Donger” pictured. BFFC members competing against the VFFA, fishing rivers in the Omeo area with a BBQ dinner Saturday Night. The Club who's member catches the heaviest fish at the end of the week-end is awarded the ”Dudley Lee Donger” trophy which they keep for the ensuing year.


CLOSING WEEKEND

Closing of the Trout fishing season in Victorian Rivers.  King's Birthday first weekend in June. Final get together BBQ Saturday Night. General clean up of Lodge.


General Meetings second Wednesday in each month at the Bairnsdale Club 7 pm.
Attendance draw.

Fly casting, fly tying and fishing tuition is available upon request. Please contact the Secretary

Acknowledgement

The Club acknowledges Sport and Recreation Victoria through the COUNTRY ACTION GRANT SCHEME for the funding to originally set up this website in 2013. In 2024 with the assistance through the Victorian Government STRONGER FISHING CLUBS GRANT SCHEME the Club was provided with funds to completely update the site with the latest software and security systems.
